GENERAL INFORMATION

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have.

Travel Insurance

It is a condition upon joining any of Walking With My Bear Adventures trips that all clients are insured for comprehensive expenses that might be incurred due to medical issues or accidents. This includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and associated treatment costs. Please note that we don’t arrange or sell insurance, but we can suggest reputable providers on the understanding this is only a recommendation.

Acclimatisation

This trek’s itinerary is planned with a high degree of awareness of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Experts agree that gaining elevation without proper consideration of AMS could be fatal. The higher the altitude, the less oxygen will be in the air. Therefore, our body needs time to adapt to an environment with less oxygen. We provide all clients access to online High Altitude Awareness courses as part of our package prior to any trek. Equally, we can provide group altitude adjustment training for clients at a nominal cost should they desire. These are held in Leeds. For further details please contact us.

Equipment’s & Packing List

We will provide you with an equipment and packing list which includes a list of outlets where items can be purchased. The items will vary according to the season and the trek duration. The weight limit for your luggage is 33 pounds or 15 kg per person per trek. Remember that your luggage will be carried by porters but you are required to carry a daypack (with your valuables or anything important) by yourself. We also suggest that you pack only what is necessary.

“Jonathan definitely puts safety first on his expeditions. His mountaineering experience and advice ensure that you have the best experience whether that is climbing Kilimanjaro or the UK 3 peaks!”
