My Reason for Fundraising

My aim, to bring awareness in an engaging manner that brings home to the viewers mind what is going on out there and how we can collectively bring change…

Insight to creating the music, lyrics and video

Writing the music and words for this piece was achieved through reflecting on the emotional state and experiences victims of domestic abuse I have supported and helped overcome their past, so they can go on to live amazing lives. All of which Focus4Hope support and help victims of social abuse escaping to rebuild their lives and much more.

Why I chose not to talk

The figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show there were 71,387 domestic abuse-related incidents reported to West Yorkshire Police in 2018/19.

I honestly can’t imagine how vulnerable the victims must feel.

That equates to a stunning one every 7.4 minutes.

Purely because many victims can’t be heard. Their cry is without sound, and unfortunately action and support isn’t provided until traumatic events both physically and mentally have occured.

7th March 2021 is the "No More" to domestic abuse awareness week!

So I chose to express through a number of images and just words and I bring home the realisation of what it may be like for someone who feels all alone.
